[www.inewsguyana.com]Kelvin Moore of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara was today placed on $45,000 bail, when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to answer a larceny charge.

He pleaded guilty to the offence, which alleged that on January 15 at 111 Miles Potaro, he stole a quantity of items which include cellular phones and other items, amounting to $45,000, property of Shondell Chesney.

Moore told the Court that he sold a Sim card to someone and the Police arrested him stating that it belongs to Chesney. He explained that a friend who came out from prison recently gave it to him.

Based on his explanation, a not guilty plea was entered by the Chief Magistrate.

The prosecutor did not object to bail, but indicated the defendant also came out prison but the case was discharged against him. The matter was transferred to Mahdia Court for April 14.
