(Jamaica Observer) The Kingston, Jamaica pastor who was recently arrested following allegations that he had sex with a 12-year-old girl before impregnating her, was offered bail in the sum of $1.5 million in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday morning.

Kenneth Blake, 52, pastor of the Harvest Temple Apostolic Church, located on Slipe Pen Road, was charged with rape, forcible abduction, grievous sexual assault, sexual touching and sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years old after he surrendered to the police on August 15.

According to allegations the pastor had a relationship with the complainant’s mother who was the church treasure.

However, Blake’s lawyer Abel Son Foote told the court that his client has never touched the child and that the allegations arose out of malice from the mother who is unhappy that she is no longer being financially supported by the pastor.

He is to return to court on October 5.
