[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyanese duo of Nicholas Ail and Narayan Ramdhani have been chosen to represent their country at the upcoming Suriname International Badminton Tournament billed for November 13-16
Ali, the National Senior Champion and Ramdhani, the National Junior & Senior Champion, Suriname Easter International Silver Medalist, Caribbean Championships Bronze Medalist & South American Youth Games Bronze Medalist, were chosen for the 7th edition of the games by the Guyana Badminton Association.
The two players will compete in the Men Singles and Men Doubles Events and will also gain Points for The World Badminton Rankings when the event serves off at the Ismay van Wilgen Sportshal in Paramaribo.
In the recent past, Guyana’s badminton players excelled at the Caribbean Regional International Championships held in Puerto Rico
The September 12-15, event yielded some 8-Medals while the contingent that represented Guyana and at the South American Youth Games held in Lima Peru saw the accomplishment of 2 bronze feats.
The GBA also has a fundraising BBQ planned for November 30th 2013 at the Grill located at the YMAC, Thonas Lands.
In other events planned for the sport for the remainder of the year, the G-B-A will hold its bi-annual general elections for 2014-2016 in the early part of December.
