The Guyana Oil Company Limited (GuyOil) is rejecting a fake press release published by Sheriff News Network, which indicates that the current disruption to fuel supply in Guyana could last for as long as ten weeks.
General Manager Molly Hassan told INews Guyana that the press release being circulated is inaccurate and did not originate from GuyOil.
Hassan assured that while some privately-owned gas stations are out of fuel, GuyOil remains stocked and is serving the population.
President Dr Irfaan Ali today met with fuel importers to address the current fuel shortages.
“I’ve been assured that shipments are expected as early as tonight, with additional supplies already being sourced to meet national demand. We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure stability and continued supply,” President Ali has said.
