The Medical Council of Guyana (MCOG), at its statutory meeting held on May 12, 2025, deliberated extensively on an application for short-term registration from Dr. Hubert Daisley, a controversial Trinidadian pathologist.
Dr Daisley was identified by Adriana Younge’s family to conduct another autopsy on the child’s body, despite three international pathologists – including one previously selected by the family – already offering their conclusions in relation to the girl’s death.
Nevertheless, the Medical Council said in the course of reviewing the application, new information, previously unavailable during Dr Daisley’s last registration, has come to the Council’s attention. This development necessitates further investigation and verification in keeping with the Council’s mandate to uphold the highest standards of medical practice in Guyana.
As part of this process, the Council has formally written to the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago requesting additional information. That Board has acknowledged receipt of our correspondence and indicated that a response will be provided in due course.
Once received, the Council will review the information and make a decision on Dr. Daisley’s application.
