Police say at about 0200hrs Thursday, June 02, 2016, four men armed with handguns, stormed the Regional Democratic Office compound at BV/Triumph, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The gunmen relieved one of the two security guards of cash and valuables, tied them up and proceeded to torch two safes in the building where they carted off an undisclosed sum of cash.
No arrests have been made as investigations continue.
