Essequibo teen gets 3 years jail for smartphone theft

Nineteen-year-old Nardeo Shamsundar, called Shatesh and Drakes, a porter of lot 14 Riverstown Essequibo Coast, will have to spend the next three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a simple larceny charge.
Shamsundar made his first appearance before Magistrate Ester Sam at the Charity’s Magistrate Court.
The Court heard that on September 16, at Suddie he stole one touchscreen smartphone  valued at $70,000  from Tagebrittie Jaichand.
He pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced.
