Man on remand for threatening language offences escapes from Lusignan Prison

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the escape of remanded prisoner Adrian Damder from the Lusignan Prison, East Coast Demerara, which occurred sometime between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs on Sunday May 17, 2026.

Damder, of Graham Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, was remanded to the Lusignan Prison on January 14, 2026, in relation to two counts of Threatening Language.

Police ranks have since been dispatched to the prison as investigations continue.
