Enmore man subdued in alleged threat found with unlicenced guns, ammo

The Guyana Police Force in a statement said that around 00:10hrs this morning, a vendor of Newtown, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, who allegedly threatened a fellow patron at an entertainment establishment located in the said village, was subdued and handed over to ranks by public spirited citizens together with an unlicenced .38 Taurus revolver, five (5) live matching rounds and one spent shell.
According to the police, about 09:30hrs the suspect was escorted to his home where a search was conducted and an unlicenced twelve gauge single barrel Stephen Shotgun and six (6) live cartridges were found concealed in a wardrobe.
Police say the suspect has since admitted ownership of the latter weapon and ammunition only and is cooperating with investigators.
