General Secretary of the Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Dr Bharrat Jagdeo – who is also the country’s Vice President – has reminded that elections are won on the basis of votes and therefore, is encouraging his party’s supporters to ensure they head to the polls today.
Jagdeo has cast his ballot at the St. Paul’s Primary School in Sparenedaam, East Coast Demerara (ECD) – a process that was seamless and efficient.
“The Peoples Progressive Party is very confident going into these elections largely because of our track record and what we continue to offer to the people of this country,” he told reporters.
Jagdeo noted that so far, polling day activities are progressing well across the country.
However, he reminded that “elections are won on the basis of votes cast” and therefore urged “all the PPP supporters to make sure you get out there and vote”.
“Let’s cement this victory,” he said.
