Former President of the Guyana Teachers Union (GTU), Mark Lyte, says the country’s education sector has undergone never-before-seen growth over the last five years under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) administration.
“As an educator for over three decades, I can tell you, the education sector has never seen the kind of growth we have experienced in the last five years… We have also seen the extent to which training of teachers has gone beyond our expectation.,” Lyte declared at the PPP/C’s massive rally at Albion in Berbice.
Lyte, who recently endorsed the President Dr Irfaan Ali-led PPP/C for a second term, added went onto talk about the infrastructural development with schools, modern classrooms, and the introduction of ICT in classrooms with smart boards that has helped students.
“I want to say this progress is something that we need to build on. And the PPP/C is saying, forward together for a better Guyana,” the former GTU head stated.
