Caribbean Chemicals’ employee charged with $7M embezzlement; granted bail

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 25-year-old employee of Caribbean Chemicals was today placed on $200,000 by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on an embezzlement charge.  

Diane Mosley of Lot 115 Albertown, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the offence which alleged that between August 14 and September 6 at Georgetown; being an employee of Caribbean Chemicals she embezzled the sum of $7,842,902, property of Caribbean Chemicals.

She was represented by Attorney – at – Law Khemraj Ramjattan. He told the Court that his client has a good character and was employed with the company for three years.

The Counsel said that Mosley has no pending matter or prior convictions and denied the allegation against her.

Police Inspector Michael Grant, prosecuting did not object to bail and the matter was postponed to October 3 for statements.
