Officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Friday seized a quantity of cocaine at Hydronie, Parika on the East Bank of Essequibo.
Acting on information received, the CANU Officers, conducted an operation at a residence located in Hydronie, Parika.
A subsequent search of the residence led to the discovery of several parcels containing a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Three (3) suspects were arrested and escorted to CANU’s headquarters along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 23.958 kg (52.818lbs).
Investigations are ongoing.
