Police in Regional Division #7 are investigating a report of an alleged Break and Enter and Larceny by three (3) identifiable suspects, of an undisclosed amount of cash and a quantity of hardware items, which occurred on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Xin Cheng Supermarket located at Lot 61 Second Avenue, Bartica. This supermarket is operated by Jiamiel Qui, a Chinese National, aged 28 years, a businesswoman of Lot 9A Public Road, Ankerville, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice,
Investigation thus far revealed, that three (3) suspects broke into the premise and removed items from the store shelves and cash register.
Based on information received, ranks visited the residence of one of the suspects, who was arrested and questioned. The following items were recovered:
* Two (2) black and yellow Ingco cordless drills with three (3) batteries
* One (1) Ingco three-piece brush set
* One (1) black Decakila cordless mixer
* One (1) Ingco electric saw
* One (1) Ingco belt sander
* One (1) Decakila cordless portable blender
* Twenty (20) cartons of cigarettes
The recovered items are lodged at the Bartica Police Station.
The remaining suspects, a businessman and others were subsequently arrested in connection with the alleged offence.
All arrested persons remain in custody assisting with ongoing investigation.
