[www.inewsguyana.com]– A suspected burglar was shot last evening (Monday January 26) around 21: 30 hours while exiting a house at LBI, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Police said the injured man attempted to rob the house he was seen exiting with his accomplice and was shot after he attacked residents with a cutlass.
He has been identified as 28 year old Vijay Ragnauth, of Success, ECD. He was shot to his right foot by a licensed firearm holder.
Ragnauth is under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, while his accomplice remains in police custody.
Investigations by the police later led to the recovery of a number of stolen household articles, including electrical appliances along with the arrest of six men and two women who are suspected of receiving some of the stolen property.
