Unidentified body found behind Guyana Marriott

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of an unidentified man washed ashore on the beach behind the Guyana Marriott on Friday, November 27.

iNews understands that the man, who is of African descent, was clad in a blue t-shirt and a jeans. The man appeared to be in his late 20’s and was sporting facial hair.

Police investigators were summoned to the scene after guests at the Guyana Marriott noticed the body.

Investigators arrived shortly after and were able to retrieve the body. A pool of blood had formed around his upper body, giving rise to the suspicion that he may have still been alive when he washed ashore.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of foul play despite some eyewitnesses seeing what they suspected to be a life jacket, a short distance from the man’s body.

The police may have been unable to preserve the scene since a high tide came in shortly after the discovery.
