[www.inewsguyana.com] – Fizul Bacchus was re-elected as President of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) in somewhat of a controversial fashion on Sunday when the Biennial General Meeting of the board and elections was held at the board’s hostel at Anna Regina on the Essequibo Coast.
Bacchus’ challenger, Prince Holder is questioning the credibility of Bacchus’ re-election.
Holder is citing that the elections was not held according to the ECB constitution, which stated that before any elections is held, each Area Committee must complete their respective internal elections which was not the case at the time of the election.
Three of the eight Area Committees had their internal elections, according to Holder.
Meanwhile Bacchus has refuted the claims of the elections being unconstitutional.
