Amir Khouri elected President of Guyana Karate Federation

The Guyana Karate Federation held its Biennial General Meeting on Sunday last at the YMCA Building, Thomas Lands, with Amir Khouri elected to head the body.

Khouri will serve in the position for the next two years, and will have Compton Dunbar and Roger Peroune as his Vice-presidents. Bernice Irving was elected Secretary, while Sandra Britton is the Treasurer and Bhagwandin Persaud the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.

Honourable Life Member of the Guyana Olympic Association, Ivor O’Brien, was the Returning Officer.

The meeting was attended by members of the various affiliated associations, namely Association do Shotokan Karate- Guyana (YMCA Dojo), Shotokan Karate-Do of Guyana (Shokoguy- National Park Dojo), Guyana WadoRyu Karate Association, Guyana  Shotokan Karate International Federation, Guyana Karate College, National Martial Arts Association and Berbice Shotokan Karate Dojo.
