59 motorcycle impounded during police operations

Some of the motorcycles that were impounded

Fifty-nine motorcycles were impounded by ranks of the “A” Division during an operation at the Georgetown Seawalls (Camp Street- Vlissengen Road).

During this activity which was carried out between 23:00h on Sunday and 05:00h on Monday six persons were taken into Police custody while a dozen cycles were abandoned by riders.

A verification of the authenticity of the documents of the said cycles is being done since many are suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained. Seventy grams of cannabis was also found.

In the meanwhile, 18 persons who were arrested by senior ranks of the Police Force are being questioned for several criminal offenses.

Reports are that the individuals are being questioned in relation to robbery under arms, simple larceny and housebreaking offences.
