Ranks of the Guyana Police Force have made significant progress in relation to the alleged murder committed on Faynel Brewster, which occurred on Sunday October 19, 2025 at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
CCTV footage obtained revealed that prior to the incident, the victim’s brother was pursued by two men on a black XR motorcycle. The movements of the suspects were traced through the Government’s Smart City Surveillance Cameras before and after the incident.
Following intensive investigative work, a police operation led by senior officers was conducted at Morcourt Square, East La Penitence, where two male suspect – ages 25 and 29, an operator of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara and a farmer of Buxton, East Coast Demerara along with a 25-year-old female vendor of Morcourt Square, East La Penitence, were taken into custody.
During a search of the premises, ranks discovered 50 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and a black Honda XR motorcycle believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. The items were seized and lodged as evidence.
All three persons remain in custody assisting with the investigation as police continue to pursue additional leads.
The Guyana Police Force assures the public that every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice.
