A 21-year-old man died on Sunday evening in an accident along the Number Six Village Public Road, West Coast Berbice (WCB).
Dead is Afridi Rahaman of Bath Plantation, WCB.
Police said Rahaman was driving motorcar PAB 8323 at around 20:20hrs when he lost control whilst negotiating a turn in the road.
As a result, the vehicle toppled several times and came to rest in a trench.
The driver was pulled from the wreckage in an unconscious state and taken to the Bath Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead in arrival.
Meanwhile, a passenger in the vehicle, a 19-year-old girl, was injured in the crash; she was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
