The top performing student at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) is Tanasha Destiny Hope Myers of the Academy of Excellence, gaining a place at Queen’s College.
Myers achieved a perfect score or 100% pass rate of 487.88 marks.
According to the Education Minister, Priya Manickchand, this has only happened once before in 2018 with then top student Nalia Rahaman scoring a perfect 529 marks.
This year’s first runner up place was copped by Kalissa Haimpersaud of Huis’t Dieren Primary with 487 marks.
She was followed by Christian Kayden Ramsay of Mae’s Under 12 Primary, Michaela Sammy of Stella Marris Primary and Sandhyaa Swammy of Peter’s Hall Primary who all achieved 486.96 marks.
Achieving 486.91 marks is Leah Gill of New Guyana School, followed by 486.13 marks earned by Asiyah Hadiyah Khan of ISA Islamic Academy and Emma Elizabeth Khelawan of Academy of Excellence.
This was followed by Sarah DeFreitas of Stella Marris Primary, Katy Serena Budhan of Success Elementary, Kayliah Grace Persaud of Mae’s Under 12 Primary, Ziyad Mohamed of C.V. Nunes Primary, Axela Vieira of Covent Garden Primary, Sfaeerah Sheriff of New Sapodilla School of Excellence, Roshini Seecharan of C.V. Nunes Primary, Chloe Faith Daniel of New Guyana School and Knial Jonathan Williams of North Georgetown Primary, who all earned 486.09 marks.

The Education Ministry has also announced top ten students for each of the ten Administrative Regions with Dravid Stoll of Kamwatta Primary, Region One with 481.4 marks earning a place at The Bishop’s High School.
Regions Two, Three and Four top performers are all in the top ten.
Region Six’s top performer is Adore Barnwell of the Skeldon Primary School who achieved 486.06 marks earning a place at Queen’s College.
Copping first place in Region Seven is Micaiah Hart of Potaro Primary with 481.3 Marks.
Region’s Eight top performer is Pricilla Henry of Micobie Primary with 471.52 marks while Gustavo Abraham of Annai Primary top Region Nine with 481.45 marks.
Fernanda Gomez of Regma Primary with 484.31 marks copped first place in Region Ten.
