Two persons have been arrested after they were busted transporting some 48lbs of cocaine at La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
The bust was made by ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) today, acting on information received.
A statement from the Unit said its ranks conducted an operation in the vicinity of La Grange Public Road, where they intercepted a motor vehicle. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle revealed twenty brick-like parcels containing a quantity of cocaine.
The two suspects, who were occupants of the vehicle, were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the narcotics, which weighed 22.394 kilograms.
