[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 19 – year – old man of Grant Burn Bush, Lower Pomeroon river was killed at around 22:00hrs on Monday, May 25 after the boat he was driving crashed into a tree in the Akawani creek .
According to reports, Trevon Benn and a friend were on their way to Akawani when the accident occurred. iNews understands that Benn was the captain of the boat when he allegedly lost control while navigating some floating weed following which he slammed into a tree.
His friend escaped with minor injuries and managed to telephone persons for help. The boat was powered by a 40 HP outboard engine. Police are investigating the accident.
