Police are investigating the discovery of a firearm and ammunition which were found on Sunday August 16, 2026, about 13:15hrs in the vicinity of Dakoura Creek, Wismar, Linden.
Preliminary investigations revealed that ranks were conducting mobile patrols in the area when they observed a 30-year-old pork knocker of Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden, who began acting suspiciously upon seeing the Police.
The man was stopped and searched. During a search of a shoulder bag he was carrying, ranks found one Glock 19 pistol fitted with a magazine containing eight live 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The 30-year-old, who is not the holder of a firearm licence, was arrested and escorted to the Wismar Police Station along with the firearm and ammunition which were lodged.
The suspect remains in Police custody as investigations continue.
