Kellon Fredricks, a 21-year-old man who was wanted by the police for murder as well as a series of armed robberies, was shot dead on Tuesday at the Onderneeming Sandpit, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Fredricks, along with his brother Kevin Fredricks, had been wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies committed across Georgetown, Sand Hill Backdam, Cuyuni River, and Windsor Castle.
The Guyana Police Force had issued a wanted bulletin for the duo on April 13, 2024.
According to information reaching this publication, police officers, acting on intelligence, moved in on Kellon Fredricks in the Onderneeming Sandpit area. During the operation, Fredricks was fatally shot.
While early reports suggested he was shot during a confrontation with police, other accounts indicate he may have been killed by a rival gang member. Police are yet to confirm the exact circumstances.
Kellon Fredricks was also wanted for questioning in relation to the murders of Zaheer Sheriff and Donovan Washington.
The Guyana Police Force has not yet provided an official statement regarding the fatal shooting.
