The construction worker who lost his life in a workplace accident earlier today has been identified as 28-year-old Dairobis Martinez, a Cuban national who resided at Foulis, East Coast Demerara.
The incident occurred at a construction site at Bachelor’s Adventure, ECD – where a supermarket was being erected.
Martinez met his demise when a concrete wall collapsed and crushed him.
Construction works at the site have since been halted.
Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning Keoma Griffith has since visited the location.
Investigations are ongoing.
