A source close to the investigation has confirmed earlier today that the driver of the car is in Police custody assisting with the investigations.

Reports indicate that Keneisha Sim was attempting to cross the road on her way to her job at Qualfon, when she was hit by the car.

An eyewitness revealed to INews that a mini-bus had stopped on the road for the young lady to pass, and the car that struck her down had over taken the mini-bus.

In an unconscious state, Sim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she remains in the Intensive Care Unit.

Investigations are ongoing into the matter.
