Suspicious behaviour of WCD man lead cops to 1.7 grams of marijuana

A 42-year-old West Coast Demerara (WCD) resident was on Friday morning taken into police custody after he was found with a quantity of cannabis in his possession at the Bartica Stelling.

Inews was informed that officers who were conducting an exercise at the Stelling noticed an incoming speed boat with its occupant, Douglas Sidmond of Tuschen, WCD, acting in a suspicious manner.
As such, a search was carried out and 1.7grams of cannabis were found in Sidmond’s red and white hand bag, wrapped up with brown scotch tape.
The 42-year-old reportedly confessed that the item belonged to him and he was arrested.
Charges are expected to be laid soon.
