Suspected teen bandit remanded

• 17-yr-old from West La Penitence charged with two counts of armed robbery

Sherwin Thompson, 17, 0f Lot 24 West La Penitence, Georgetown was slapped with two counts of robbery when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on October 13, 2016 Thompson, while being in the company of another in Georgetown and armed with a gun, he robbed Diana Richards of $14,520.

Also on the same day at the same location, he robbed Stephen Emanuel of an undisclosed sum of cash. His representing attorney denied the allegations explaining that her client was wrongfully accused.

However, the prosecution contended that the suspected teen bandit was caught and beaten by passersby after one of the Virtual Complainant  raised an alarm.

He was remanded to prison and will return on October 25, 2016.
