[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police say at about 05:35hrs on Saturday (January 18) Police Constable 14716 Kirk Profitt was walking along Bent Street, Georgetown when he was attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The perpetrators took away his wallet along with $10,000 and his cell phone. They then observed his Police Badge in the wallet and shot him to his abdomen before escaping on bicycles.
Profitt has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for medical treatment.
Investigations are in progress.
