Members of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) have been deployed to help maintain law and order amid violent demonstrations countrywide.

The countrywide chaos erupted moments after it was revealed that the autopsy conducted on the body of Adrianna Younge, 11, showed that she died as a result of drowning.

Persons took to the streets across the country to loot, block roads with burning debris, destroy public infrastructure, attack innocent persons, and cause confusion.

INews understands that GDF ranks have been deployed to assist members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in restoring order.

Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces President Dr Irfaan Ali has since urged persons to desist from these illegal activities, warning that they will face consequences.

Additionally, the GPF has issued several wanted bulletins for individuals who have allegedly committed the offence of inciting public terror.
