Shots fired at ECD businessman’s vehicle at Plaisance

Police in Regional Division 4 ‘C’ have launched an investigation into the discharge of a loaded firearm on Wednesday evening at Victoria Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Based on reports received, a 35-year-old businessman and contractor from Sparendaam, ECD, was driving along Victoria Road when he encountered another motor vehicle. During the encounter, an individual allegedly discharged what appeared to be a firearm in his direction before leaving the area.

The matter was reported to the police, and an examination of the businessman’s vehicle revealed damage consistent with a suspected gunshot. A suspected firearm projectile was recovered and lodged. Police stated that no injuries were reported, as investigations are ongoing.
