Today (September 8th) is World Literacy Day. For 50 years now UNESCO has declared and spearheaded the celebration. The Ministry of Education, this morning, held a Literacy Extravaganza on the tarmac of its office in Brickdam, Georgetown in observance of International Literacy Day.
