Sandy Babb street resident remanded for alleged marijuana possession

Fifty – One – year old Mark Brown of 57 Sandy Babb Street Georgetown was remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman charged with two counts of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

The allegations state that on July 2 at Merimans Mall Bourda; Brown had 125 grams of marijuana on his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Attorney – at – law George Thomas represented the accused and told the court that his client no longer owns the stall at Merimans Mall in which the illegal items were found and as such his client does not have care, custody and control of the items, since the stall is now owned by someone else.

However, the police prosecutor disclosed that the accused indeed has control of the stall. Based on the information presented in court, the Magistrate refused bail and Mark Brown will return to court on July 31. [Royan Abrams]
