Chairman of Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice) Vickchand Ramphal says that under the current People’s Progressive Party/Civic Government, his region was able to reposition itself as the largest agriculture producing region in Guyana.
Speaking at the PPP/C Elections Rally on Sunday at Bath Settlement, Ramphal said, “From 2015 to 2020, Region Five was a region that was going down…and under the leadership of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic Government, we have seen agriculture on the rise in Region Five. We have seen Region Five taking back its place as largest agriculture producing region in this country.”
Ramphal, who is a Candidate for the PPP/C at the September 1 Elections, said the region is pleased with the progress and development that has taken place across the region since 2020.
“We have seen development in all corners and sectors in this region,” he stated.
From better D&I works to better farm-to-market roads, better community roads, better medical services, the Regional Chairman declared “That is progress for our region.”
“There is much more to come and we will continue to develop this region and to make it the best region to invest in when it comes to agriculture.”
“We have seen the many young involved in agriculture and treating agri as a business and we are progressing strongly.”
