A prisoner was today charged for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Twenty – three – year old Andre Gustave pleaded not guilty. He is currently on remand for a similar offence.
The court was told that on June 04 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, the man provided 2.615 kilograms of cocaine to Johail Maguette for the purpose of exportation.
Police prosecutor Steven Telford disclosed that they were able to link the accused to the crime based on investigations carried out and based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions, they were able to impose the charges.
Andre Gustave was further remanded and is expected to make his next court appearance onAugust 15. [Royan Abrams]
