Police in Regional Division #1 (Barima-Waini), on Friday, arrested a shop owner in Port Kaituma after he was found in possession of over 25 grammes of cannabis.
The discovery was made on Friday during a search of the suspect’s shop.

According to the police, the shop owner voluntarily handed over two (2) Ziplock bags containing the narcotics.
A further search of the shop unearthed a bulky plastic bag, which also contained additional Ziplock bags of suspected cannabis. In total, the narcotics found totalled approximately 25.3 grammes.
The shop owner is currently in police custody, and charges are pending.
