‘Poor service will not be tolerated’ – Min. Persaud tells management of Palms Geriatric Home

Minister of Human Services and Social Security Dr Vindhya Persaud on Wednesday met with the management of the Palms Geriatric Home, where she made it clear that poor service delivery to residents will not be tolerated and accountability will be enforced.

The minister also announced that frequent assessments will now be conducted to strengthen systems and improve the quality of care being offered at the State-run facility.

During the visit, the minister also formally introduced the new Permanent Secretary, Dr. Erica Forte, to the management team.

The minister and PS conducted a thorough inspection of facility and listened to concerns from the residents there.

The minister underscored her commitment to addressing their needs and ensuring their comfort and well-being are prioritised.
