Pomeroon man crushed by falling tree – which he was cutting at the time

Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Fredricks of the Lower Pomeroon village of Wakapao in Region Two has been crushed by a huge tree he was felling at Glenhorse, Lower Pomeroon on Monday at about 11:15hrs.

Reports are that Fredricks sustained injuries to his shoulders, arms and lower body when the tree fell on him.

He was discovered in an injured state by his uncle, Marlon France, and was immediately rushed to the Oscar Joseph Hospital at Charity, where doctors pronounced him dead.

His body is presently at the Suddie Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem. (Indra Nathram)
