On November 2, 2025, Sergeant McGarrell and Corporal Wilson, along with two other ranks, visited Shots Sports Bar located on Vreed-En-Hoop Public Road, West Coast Demerara. The purpose of the visit was to engage with the establishment’s management and patrons about responsible alcohol consumption and public safety.
During the visit, the ranks issued a warning to the bar’s manager, Ms Altalandra, emphasising the importance of not selling alcoholic beverages to highly intoxicated individuals or minors under the age of 18.
They also advised patrons against drinking and driving, urging the use of designated drivers to ensure their safety and that of other road users.
In addition, the ranks discussed regulations regarding the bar’s operational hours, requested that management keep the music at a moderate volume, and emphasised the importance of promptly reporting any misconduct or disturbances to the police.
