The Guyana Police Force wishes to inform the public that an investigation was launched into the shooting to death of Mark Anthony Benjamin, 37 years old of 36 Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, which occurred on Tuesday the 29th day of April, 2025 at 18:40 hours at Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara by suspect Hosea Salmon.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, and they had an alteraction, which led to the suspect shooting the victim to his head, and thereafter, he made good his escape.
The victim was later pronounced dead, and his body is currently at the Memorial Gardens Mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.
The Police are in pursuit of the suspect while investigations remain ongoing.
