Planning for GuyExpo 2025 underway

Preparations for GuyExpo 2025 are already in motion, with Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues, and Permanent Secretary Roger Rogers co-chairing a strategic planning meeting on Friday.

The focus is on streamlining efforts to ensure a successful staging of Guyana’s largest trade and investment exposition.

As part of the preparatory efforts, Minister Rodrigues conducted a site visit to the National Exhibition Centre, the venue for the event. She engaged with staff from the facility as well as key subvention agencies, including the Guyana National Bureau of Standards, Guyana Tourism Authority, Competition and Consumer Affairs Commission, and the Scrap Metal Unit, to assess the site and explore ways to enhance its use.

Minister Rodrigues emphasised the importance of collaboration in the planning process, urging full support from the private sector. She noted that GuyExpo offers a platform for nearly 100,000 patrons to interact with local producers and service providers, making it a valuable opportunity for businesses.

“GuyExpo is a staple event on our national calendar that showcases the dynamism and innovation of our manufacturers, agro-processors, and service providers. It is an expo that resonates deeply with us as Guyanese, and we are committed to building on the successes of past expos to deliver a showcase that truly mirrors Guyana’s growth and transformational journey,” she stated.

GuyExpo, launched in 1995 and held annually from 2004 to 2016, returned in 2023.

Last year’s edition was held under the theme “Guyana On Show, The Fastest Growing Economy” and featured a vibrant Tourism Village, showcasing the nation’s culinary and cultural offerings.

The upcoming 2025 edition is expected to attract even more exhibitors, sponsors, and patrons, and promises to be a major highlight of the year. The official launch and date announcement for GuyExpo 2025 will be made in the coming weeks.
