Permission needed for ads on seawall; defaulters urged to contact authorities – MoPW

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to notify the public that all individuals or entities desirous of publishing advertisements or awareness notices on the concrete sea walls between Georgetown and Ogle, East Coast of Demerara are required to obtain formal approval and comply with requirements stipulated by the Sea and River Defence Board.

A copy of the guidelines for use of the seawall can be obtained from the Board’s Secretariat at Fort Street, Kingston, Georgetown, or from the Ministry’s website.

Individuals and private entities interested in publishing notices on the sea walls in the locations defined above are required to submit a written application to the Chairman, Sea and River Defence Board, Fort Street, Kingston, Georgetown. The application should provide sufficient information on the reasons for publishing the notice, include a description of the content (pictorial or text) of the notice and an indication of the desired period for which the notice will be displayed on the sea wall.

All individuals and entities having existing notices and advertisements on the sea defences are required to contact with the Sea and River Defence Board at the address indicated below so that the necessary payment arrangements for rental of the seawalls can be established.
