Police in Regional Division #8 (Potaro-Siparuni) are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis which was found on Saturday June 13, 2026, between 10:30hrs and 11:10hrs.
During an exercise, ranks conducted a search at Mahdia Arcade, during which one black plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found concealed under a rock.
Further checks revealed a transparent bag containing several zip-lock bags with leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspected cannabis was escorted to the Mahdia Police Station, where it was weighed. The suspected cannabis in the black plastic bag amounted to 90 grams, while the suspected cannabis in the zip-lock bags amounted to 85 grams.
The suspected cannabis, which amounted to a total of 175 grams, was lodged.
No arrest was made. Investigations are ongoing.
