A 79-year-old man was injured when a tree fell on his home in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, just moments ago.

The injured man, identified as Stamond Rawlins, was residing on the upper floor of the two-storey building.

According to reports, the house is located next to an abandoned structure on a plot of land overgrown with trees and bushes.

The man was at home when the tree suddenly fell onto the house and onto him. He was later rescued from the building and is now awaiting an ambulance to transport him to the hospital for medical treatment.

At the scene, family members revealed to this publication that they have been contacting authorities for years, urging them to remove the overgrown trees and bushes, but to no avail.

This is a developing story…
