Over 46kg of marijuana found in boat at Canje Creek

Over 46 kilograms of suspected cannabis was on Monday found in a wooden vessel in the Canje Creek.

The bust was made at around 21:45hrs by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), who were acting on intelligence gathered.

There were 24 parcels of the marijuana in the boat. It weighed a total of 46,980 grams, police said.

Two men, both residents of Sand Hills, Berbice River, have been arrested and are assisting with the investigation.
