The Guyana Police Force’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), today commenced its planned series of outreach sessions across the Regional Police Divisions, beginning in Regional Division 4 ‘A’.
The first session was held at 10:00hrs in the Conference Room of the Brickdam Police Station, Eve Leary, and was facilitated by Assistant Superintendent (On Probation) Anourudh Bisson and Sergeant Rodwell Chapman.
OPR has been conducting similar outreach sessions over the past three years as part of its continued efforts to sensitise ranks on professional standards, accountability and ethical conduct.
During the session, ranks were engaged on the role and functions of OPR, police ethics and professional conduct, Force Standing Orders, maintaining the integrity of evidence, and the procedures involved in investigating complaints against members of the Force.
These outreach sessions will continue across all Regional Police Divisions as OPR bolsters its efforts to promote professionalism, integrity and accountability among ranks of the Police Force.
