No ‘fresh elections’ discussed at PPP’s congress

PPP 1Despite the many speculations about fresh elections, not a word of such was mentioned as the PPP congress opened this afternoon.

Many expected to hear the PPP’s position on this matter at the congress opening, but the speakers including the General Secretary, Donald Ramator focused on the challenges and how the Party features in the battle against those.

But while the topic was avoided at the opening, it is entirely buried as the buzz among some delegates is that the PPP needs to go this route to bring Guyana out of the doldrums created by the one seat majority in parliament.

It is therefore possible that this topic of fresh elections could come during their deliberations in the days ahead.
