A 28-year-old construction worker from High Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of ammunition at his home on Monday.
Based on reports received, police acting on information obtained went to the home of the construction worker, where a search was conducted in his presence.
During the exercise, a black haversack containing one 9mm round and nine .223 rounds of ammunition was found. He was arrested and taken to the Central Police Station, where he remains in custody pending further investigations and charges.
